Security

Your file should never be somewhere you cannot see.

Most online converters upload your document to a machine you know nothing about, keep it for a while, and hope you never find out. We built this the other way around: the majority of our tools never touch a server at all.

On-device conversions

123 conversion paths are implemented in JavaScript that runs inside your browser tab. The file is read from your disk by the browser, processed in memory, and written back to your disk by the browser. There is no network request carrying your document, so there is nothing for us to store, log or leak.

  • No upload, so no upload progress bar to wait for
  • No file-size limit beyond your own device memory
  • Works offline once the page has loaded
  • Works the same on a shared or locked-down computer

Server-side conversions

A few conversions — PDF to Word, Office to PDF, OCR, encryption — need a full document engine. Those run on our infrastructure, where we hold ourselves to the following rules.

  • Encrypted in transit over TLS 1.3
  • Deleted automatically within one hour of processing
  • Never opened, read or reviewed by a human
  • Never sold, shared or used to train a model

Principles

The rules we hold ourselves to

Minimum necessary collection

If a conversion can happen locally, it happens locally. We do not collect data we have no reason to hold.

No third-party ad trackers on the tools

The converter pages carry no advertising or analytics scripts that follow you across the site.

Transparent retention

Anything that reaches a server has a written retention window, and it is short.

No selling data

We do not sell, rent or share personal information — with anyone, for any price.

Bug reports stay useful

If you send us a broken file for diagnosis, we delete it after the fix ships unless you ask us to keep it.

Works on old phones

We optimise for the devices people actually own, not just the newest flagship hardware.

Found a security problem?

We would like to hear about it. Report anything that could put a user’s file at risk and we will acknowledge it within one working day.
