In one line: most conversions never send your file anywhere, and the ones that do are deleted within an hour.
Files you convert
When you use a conversion tool on this site, the file you select is used for one purpose: producing your converted file. It is not used for anything else.
On-device processing
The majority of our tools — including image to PDF, PDF to image, PDF to text, text to PDF, merge, split, rotate, compress, crop, watermark and page numbering — are implemented in JavaScript that runs in your own browser. The file is read from your device and the result is written back to your device. Your file is never transmitted to us and is never stored on our systems.
Server-side processing
Some conversions require a full document rendering engine and are performed on our servers. When that happens: the transfer is encrypted in transit using TLS; the file is held only for the duration of processing; and the file and its result are deleted automatically within one hour. Our staff do not open, read or review uploaded files.
Information we collect
We keep the minimum we need to run the service. This may include: the IP address and timestamp of a request; the type of conversion requested; and contact details you choose to give us when you write to us. There are no accounts on this site, so we hold no user profiles, no passwords and no payment details.
How we use information
To provide and improve the service, to respond to your messages, to detect abuse of the service, and to comply with law. We do not use your files for training machine learning models, and we do not use your file contents for any purpose other than producing your conversion.
Data retention
On-device files exist only in your browser memory and disappear when you close or reload the tab. Server-side files are deleted within one hour. Message correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and to keep a record of defects we have fixed. Once a file is deleted, no trace of it is left on our systems.
Your rights
Under Indian law and the GDPR where it applies, you can ask us to give you a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it. You can also object to processing and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Write to us and we will respond within thirty days.
Grievance officer and complaints
If you have a complaint about this policy, about a file you have uploaded, or about the way we handled your personal information, write to our grievance officer at legal@pdfconverterindia.com with the subject line “Grievance”. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 15 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the relevant supervisory authority or to the Grievance Appellate Committee where our service falls within its scope.
Copyright and takedown
If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, write to legal@pdfconverterindia.com with the URL of the page, a description of the work you own and your contact details. We review claims and remove material where they infringe the rights of others. We also honour takedown requests for content hosted on our servers.
Children
This service is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
When this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, announce them on the site.
